Listen to Kensington public meetings online
Didn’t have time to attend the Town of Kensington’s last public meeting? No worries.
Since January the town has put all of its meetings — both work sessions and town
council meetings — online so that residents with a computer can listen anytime to
keep up on town news.
‘‘We want to try to make the town government more accessible,” said Town
Councilman Al Carr, who proposed the idea. ‘‘It’s hard for people to attend town
meetings because they have commitment with their families or [are] caring for their
own health or the health of someone else, or [have] job responsibilities.”
Carr even donated an iPod he’d won at work to the town to record the meetings.
After each meeting, Town Clerk-Treasurer Susan Engels downloads the information
onto a CD, where it is eventually put online.
To listen to the meetings, visit the town’s Web site at www.tok.org government and
click ‘‘meetings” on the far right side of the page.
